Status: "Rory King has realised that his life right now consists of having to fight Brian (his cat) for control of the TV remote."
Sex: male
Birthday: 23rd April 1983
Family:
Susan Schwartz (mother)
Hannah Schwartz (step-sister)
Douglas Pearson (cousin)
Hometown: Gloucester
Current City: London
Relationship Status: single
Interested In: women
Looking For: friendship
Political Views: Labour Party
Religious Views: Protestant
Interests: medicine, nursing, music, films, television, videogames, cookery (What? I am 'in touch with my masculinity' enough so I'm comfortable with admitting to knowing how to bake pretty bloody cool cakes, cheers)
Music: The Coral, The Zutons, Ocean Colour Scene, Supergrass, The Charlatans, The Jam, Paul Weller, The Stone Roses, Morrissey, The Smiths, The Enemy, Oasis, Blur, Pulp, James, Suede, Ash, Primal Scream, Stereophonics, Feeder, Embrace, The Courteeners, Manic Street Preachers, The Beatles, The Kinks, David Bowie, Radiohead, Snow Patrol, Coldplay (I like them, deal with it). Yes I quite like Madchester and Britpop-era or influenced bands. :P
Books: I like comedy books mostly (think Hitchhiker's Guide, Good Omens) and can't claim to be a huge literature buff by any shadow of the imagination. Admittedly I also rather enjoy fantasy and sci-fi epics that seem to have numerous volumes in the series. (You know the type, in the fantasy section of Waterstones with pasty teenage boys crowding round them?... yeah, those kind of books.)
Movies: I'll watch a bit of anything, I'm not hugely keen on mindless action and 'blowing shit up' kind of films but I'll give 'em a watch once at least! I love black comedy films along the vein of Death at a Funeral and Four Lions, and adore Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Mr Wright, Mr Pegg and Mr Frost, I think I love you.
Television: Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Monty Python's Flying Circus, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Jeeves and Wooster, The Young Ones, The League of Gentlemen, The New Statesman, Yes Minister, The Thick Of It, Father Ted, Black Books, Spaced, Being Human, Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Being Human, Gavin & Stacey, The Mighty Boosh, Green Wing, The IT Crowd, Peep Show, The Office (UK), The Office (US), Parks and Recreation, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Community, 30 Rock, House, Chuck, Arrested Development, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: NY, NCIS, 24, The Mentalist, Dollhouse, Firefly, The X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, QI, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Fast and Loose, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Mock The Week, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Have I Got News For You, You Have Been Watching, Screenwipe, Newswipe, Would I Lie To You?, Saturday Kitchen, MasterChef, Great British Menu, Hell's Kitchen, Great British Bake Off, The Fabulous Baker Brothers, The Little Paris Kitchen
(Yes I watch a lot of TV and yes there is quite a range I enjoy, from 'old' comedy, to extremely sweary things to the surreal. Or, best of all, a weird mix of all three! Well that and cooking shows... what? They're oddly addictive! *hides in shame*)
Favourite Quotations:
Hugh Abbott: I'm not quite sure what level of reality I'm supposed to be operating on.
(The Thick Of It)
Jen: Can I ask you a question?
Moss: [moving to sit at his desk] Yep hang on a minute, okay go!
Jen: How can you two live like this?
Moss: [typing] How... can you two... live like-
Roy: Don't Google the question, Moss!
(The IT Crowd)
Jez: No, challenging is right... umm... but, a bit more of a relaxing challenge, more like doing a crossword than a tracheotomy.
(Peep Show)
Shaun: How's that for a slice of fried gold?
(Shaun of the Dead)
About Me: Oh, hullo there! I'm Rory King and I'd say I'm just a regular bloke of nine and twenty years. Average, dependable and normal, that's me to a tee, but I maintain it's actually a good thing to be. Now, why don't you come on in, put your feet up, get settled and have a nice cup of tea and biscuits while watching a bit of telly with me? :)
