Another quick tip, along the same kind of theme as Telle's slice of fried gold up there, use pics of hot celebs. Seriously, it helps keep the motivation up for finishing a graphic. Oh and use high-quality pics, nothing worst than having to waste time trying to make a pic pretty before you can even get started. Aaah see I am capable of giving a pretty obvious tip!

Here's a bit of help for cutting out images that are on a light background and placing them onto a black/dark background. So I am working on Professor' LeMire's av and of course I decided to do the hardest thing possible take an image of her outside, in a bright setting and cut it out and put it on a black background. So there is no fast way for cutting out an image, you are just going to have to take your time. So since I am taking it from something so light to dark the lighting is a really big deal. So I took the burn tool around the edges (especially on the hair where is most evident that there was previously a light background). Also to add more dimension since it was so light outside I take the burn tool on midtones and swipe it over her completely. And finally because the image is flatter and I want it to be a bit more dramatic, I run the burn tool on the right side of the shirt, on the left shoulder, and the bottom left hand corner and up the folds of the shirt. Lookie: Original: Before Burn tool: After:

I don't know if this question falls under this category or under the 'graphic showcase' but I was wondering if anyone had any good wire textures or brushes? I wanted to place some red electrical wire, or something that looks like it could be similar to that, or maybe like a bomb that is going to go off in the background of James' sig but I am at a loss for good materials? If anyone has any other/better tips on how to make his sig look better I would be much obliged.

So since it has been a while since I have made blends/avatars etc. and I am itching to make a new signature for James, I must ask. Where is everyone's favorite places to get textures/brushes?
