The New (and Improved?) Michalka Album
We Michalkas are well known for being a snappy happy to be honest- I know for a fact my daughter has boxes upon boxes of snaps from family outings for one. So come on, share Michalkas!
Me, Myself and I
That's me, Lewis Michalka. Just a nice, healthy bit of narcissism to start off this photo album. That is as many pics of myself as you will see me posting... I'm sure my son has many embarassing ones to make up for that though. (Note to Kyle: Do not even think about digging those drunk ones out, I am prepared to hurt you, son.)
My Little Family
Now, that young lady is one of my 'reasons for living', my daughter- Katarina Michalka. She is well and truly a daddy's girl (cough... In your face Tess... cough) and currently doing both Tess and I proud by fulfilling her dream career. She's also moved out (and living with two guys- which I'm not to keen on but you know, they're nice enough lads) and has grown in confidence a lot more since graduation. I couldn't be prouder of her than I am right now.
Speaking of my kids, my son Kyle Michalka is also very important, obviously! I couldn't be more proud of the young man he's turning in to, especially now that he's actually got up off his arse and started working properly. I like to think I inspired him to do so but we all know he's a mummy's boy, damn Tess, I tried my best but she succeeded with Kyle.
Tess Clarke would have been first up but, you know, divorce does that- bumps people down to the next spots I mean. I still love her and did for all those years we were together but it's over now so let's move on. She still remains the mother of my kids, the maker of the best shepherd's pie I have ever ate and a pretty cool woman despite everything. Let's just remember and document the 'good times' we had (for my own sanity!).
My Crazy Siblings...
I mean my AMAZING Siblings
Despite a, dare I say it, seemingly frigid appearance this woman is generous, kind-hearted and a hell of a good sister. She's difficult at times and likes to mock me whenever the opportunity arises but you know what? My sister Carrie Michalka is pretty good despite all that. She can also cut down a man (or anyone for that matter) at ten paces with her withering glare... don't say you weren't warned.
And now meet Carrie’s daughter and my niece, Andy Michalka… she hates it when I, or indeed her mother does, call her Andrea so take note everyone. Andy is a beautiful, wonderful young lady that happens to be extremely close to my Kat.
Oh Sammy, Sammy, Sammy, Sammy, where to start eh? My younger brother, ladies and gentleman- Samuel Michalka- who, incidentally, hates being called Sammyboy and made the mistake of letting me know this one day. He's a... well lets face it, he's a better worker than I ever was and has done the family proud by working loyally within the Ministry since graduation. It's safe to say he's quite reserved and keeps himself to himself but, seriously, Gwen will back me up on this... he can be so bloody goofy and hyper at times, you can hardly believe it's the same man standing before you.
Speaking of a certain, rather amazing little lady, meet Gwen Myles, the woman adorable (and stupid, kidding!) enough to be engaged-to-be-married to my little bro! She’s a pretty… okay she’s a wonderful woman- so fun, so bright, so lovely- I’m truly happy for the both of them and I just know they oddly fit together.
Meet Lily Michalka, my lovely little sister. I'd say, out of all of us Michalka lot, she has the most unfalteringly amazing personality (please don't cry Sammyboy over not winning that award!) and is always cheerful and upbeat, making the best out of every situation. She lives life to the full too, something I completely respect her for but constantly worry about, as is my right and duty as her older brother!
And Lily's daughter, Cassandra Michalka. Like her cousin, she hates being called by her full name in conversation, so as her uncle I do it as often as possible. Nah, Cassie's an honestly wonderful girl and I become the embarassing, proud uncle whenever I see her.
The Creators of Such AMAZING People
Meet Matthew Michalka, my dad who can honestly say he's only grown more amazing with age. Seriously, guys, I envy his ability to down that much whisky and still remain standing... admittedly, standing on tables and singing Don't Stop Me Now at the top of his voice but hey... all us Michalkas have our little quirks. No, honestly, he's quite possibly the best guy ever. He continues to support every single one of 'us Michalka kids' and refuses to accept that he's getting any older. He dotes on all his children and grandchildren and I'm pretty sure has secret pacts with every single one of the latter group. I will discover the truth one day, father, you just remember that!
So Amazing They May Aswell Be Family
AKA The Amazing People I Work With
Okay first up in this section absolutely has to be a talented, wonderful, funny, absolutely beautiful woman who happens to also be my work partner… yep it’s Fiona Hathaway. She may be an ice princess but hey, after some years I think I have managed to thaw that ice and I occasionally am reward with a smile from her. Only very occasionally mind you. But that’s part of her charm and I’d like to think that, over the years, we’ve become a lot closer… mind you it wouldn’t take that much to be closer than we were when we met each other- she wanted to kill me with her bare hands I think. Joking. I don’t know what I’d do without her, nowadays, I truly don’t.
Alright, Andrew Holloway is distinctly less female than Fiona and so... you know that's a draw back. He likes to pretend he's very masculine and macho but we all know he's a bit softie inside though (joking, mate!) and he's a genuinly great bloke. He also loves everything technical and geeky so we get all wonderfully in that respect... seriously, don't give us a new gadget- we tend to turn into giddy eight year old boys then.
Another frosty female, this time in the form of Sarah Watson. As a rule, where I work seems to have a lot of standoffish ice princesses... while Fiona well and truly holds the crown of that title, Sarah is well up there in terms of competing for it. Despite that she is a wonderful person, so hard working that it's unbelievable, loyal, hilarious (even if it is usually taking the piss out of me) and so dedicated to the department.
The Other Watson! Haha, no, I'm joking, Ava Watson should NOT be defined by her sister. Ava is a pretty unique individual. I think she tries to be the typical bad girl but... well she fails... don't hurt me! She steals my coffee ALL THE TIME, which I am definitely not thankful for buuut she does do rather good work for the department so I suppose I'll have to forgive her for it. Either that or teach her how to do this little thing called making your OWN cup of coffee.
