The only sound Caleb could hear was the soft crunching of the dead leaves beneath his feet as they pounded the forest floor, and the brief interruptions of his friend Sidney who babbling incessantly behind him. He felt the brisk wind whip his face as he swiftly brushed passed each tree branch. Running was the closest thing he could get to flying in the muggle world. Considering his broom had been shattered into splinters during the last Quidditch match, along with his right arm that had been broken in three places he would do anything until his new broom came in the mail. At least he’d won the game by sacrificing a perfectly good broom, and a perfectly good arm. It had taken longer than he’d have liked for it too heal, but a few days wasn’t too bad. The terribly tasting bone growing medicine was the “bad” thing, it didn’t feel too good either.
Sid was the one who’d visited the most over those few days, so he felt like he should repay his kindness by offering to go for a run with him. It was one of Caleb’s favourite pastimes why shouldn’t it be Sid’s? Of course this suggestion was after Sidney casually mentioned he wanted to work out more. Caleb hadn’t the faintest idea why, but thought running was a good start. Unbeknownst to Caleb, who could honestly be a bit oblivious at times, Sidney had a major crush on Rachael Beckett, who was relatively nice to him, and Meghan Vorpahl, who wouldn’t give him the time of day. “Insects and you don’t get along!” Caleb called back through the biting wind.
Noticing the trees had thinned Caleb began sprinting towards the light and could hear Sidney falling further behind. Rushing into the light he stopped underneath one of the large trees basking in the sunlight filtering through large puffy clouds that looked like they were about to drop buckets or rain at any moment. Waiting for Sid, it didn’t take long as Caleb’s breath began to return to normal, as he stood with his hands on his hips gazing up at the foreboding clouds. “Stop complaining, it was only a run, you’re not going to die” he replied with a roll of his eyes. “You’ll get used to it,” he told his friend, with a shake of his head. Sitting himself down onto the grass beside Sidney who was sprawled in a spread-eagle.
((ooc: Anyone? Anyone at all want to join Caleb and Sidney, either one of them can leave if someone just wants to converse with Sid or Caleb too, just let me know.))
