Name: Justin Andrew Biermann
Nicknames: His surname is basically "Beer Man"... which is probably one of the better surname-based monikers a person can find themselves with.
Blood: Muggleborn
Age: 21 (5th September 1991)
Year: Graduated
Appearance: Justin blends in easily with his peers, and he's completely comfortable with that. He has short blond hair, blue eyes and stands just slightly shorter than average, around 5'8. His facial expressions fall squarely in the range of serious, skeptical or concerned.
Personality: Justin is the responsible type: goal-focused and high-achieving. He was made Prefect and later Head Boy at school, and while he's not a genius, he does care about academics and always pulled good grades. He appears overly straight-laced, and tends to take life just that little bit too seriously. Justin does have a sense of humour in there somewhere, though it tends heavily toward the sardonic. He has one of those monotone, deadpan voices that makes him appear very sarcastic at all times.
Beyond his lifelong passion for sports, Justin harbours a strong interest in history and politics. He is utterly convinced of his own ability to solve everyone else's problems, and can therefore be a bit of a self-righteous know-it-all. He's a decent public speaker but can't quite relax in casual social situations without some serious alcoholic assistance. He respects rules and authority and believes that society is, for the most part, much better off because of them.
He takes a steady, level-headed approach to life and prides himself on being everyone's stable rock. Justin firmly believes that most problems in life can be settled if everyone would just simmer down and talk things through over a nice pint.
Background: Justin comes from a solidly working-class upbringing, emotionally stable if financially rocky. He was born in Manchester and is the elder of two children (his sister Elena is 18) raised by an earnestly dedicated single father -- Justin's mother died in a car accident when he was around five years old. He was raised in a religious household, and despite some serious misgivings about the whole thing, he still considers himself Catholic and attends church out of habit.
Justin has been heavily into sports since childhood, which gave him a huge leg up socially. He's played just about everything, but is completely, dead seriously obsessed with football. He ran with a more delinquent, bullying crowd in his youth, a part of his past that he'd never vocally admit to. However, being the oldest sibling has forced him to grow up quickly and become a mature adult years ahead of his childhood friends. Growing up poor has also granted him with a talent for living cheaply and budgeting money wisely.
Other:
- Justin is gay. And, admittedly, it's been a bit difficult for the very straight-laced Justin Biermann to tell people that his laces are perhaps the only straight thing about him. He started gradually coming out to people when he was seventeen, and it's safe to assume that pretty much everyone knows by now.
- He played Chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team for the last five years of his schooling.
- He vehemently supports Manchester City in football and the Chudley Cannons in Quidditch, and is highly suspicious of people who support teams that just happen to be doing well.
