Already seated in the large ornate chair that had always been reserved for the Headmaster of the prestigious school, Magnus looked down upon the four empty tables that would soon be filling up with students and took a deep breath in, letting it out slowly as he thought about his duties over the coming year.
Unlike his predecessor, Magnus Gayfor would never allow half of the things that the students chose to do happen under his rule. No teenage pregnancies or sneaking out to parties would continue whilst he was Headmaster, a role he intended to keep for many years. Looking to the empty seats that would soon be occupied by his staff, Magnus couldnt hide the small look of contempt he wore, a few members of the staff he didnt care for and would be keeping an annoyingly close watch on from now on.
Sitting forward in his seat, he pressed his fingertips together and cast his glance over the top of them, looking almost menacingly at the room before him, awaiting his challenge of bringing the school to order with great relish.

Geoffrey sat at the far end of the staff table, waiting for the feast to commence and trying not to move too much due to his still-sunburned skin. "Good evening," he spoke to the new Headmaster in a low, very serious tone that would in no other circumstance belong to Geoff Freeman. Despite not trusting this new guy at all, Geoff had no choice but to make a good impression. The relative obscurity of his subject had allowed him to stay under the radar for the last few years... but he had a strong feeling that things were about to change at old Hogwarts.

Isabella walked into the Great Hall, having finished her duties to usher unwilling students along to the feast which she suspected already would be a much more sombre affair than what they were used to. Certainly Hogwarts was going to change, you didn't need to be psychic to know that, you just had to take one look at the new Headmaster to know it to be true. He had a kind of 'don't even think about messing around' vibe that Lolo had, no disrespect to her, seemed to be lacking. Plus, if Isabella was honest, the new Headmaster scared her a little... okay a lot. But she was almost certain that was the intention anyway. Merlin, she did not know how intimidated the students must be feeling then!
Smoothing out a non-existent wrinkle in her robes out of habit more than anything she made her way to the Staff Table, inclining her head with a smile to the man in the middle of it. "Good evening Headmaster," she spoke in greeting before taking her usual seat beside Geoff. "Evening Geoff, I trust your have not fallen ill since I last saw you, it was at Elizabeth's party, no?" she remarked.
((ooc: Geoff is stuck next to Izzy, haha, hope he doesn't mind too much!))

Professor Pattinson entered the Great Hall in his crisp new robes because, well, he had to impress the scary new Headmaster obviously. Will was vaguely certain that he was one person on Headmaster Gayfor’s list and he was acutely aware that anything less than perfection might land him a plot in the Forbidden Forest.
Striding up to the side of Isabella he gave a polite nod and a cheery smile to the regal looking man in the middle, “Evening Headmaster, looks like it’s going to be a grand year wouldn’t you agree?” he greeted the man with no less exuberance than he would anyone else. Having only had a year under the rule of Ms Lolo, he suspected this school year would change dramatically. He honestly wouldn’t mind if their courses were a bit more rigorous. Will became known, in a very short space of time, for challenging his student’s minds, but he also thought it was important that they had fun, or at the very least were interested in the lessons they practiced.
“Evening Geoff, still haven’t quite rid yourself of that sunburn I see,” he mention in casual conversation as he took a seat beside Isabella. “Good evening to you as well my dear Miss Paigi, you are looking lovely as ever,” he said the last part a bit more quietly, just between them, unsure how their new Headmaster took relationships amongst staff members. He had to allow it to some degree, seeing as the Herbology Professor and DADA Professor were now getting hitched supposedly.
((ooc: Hope you don’t mind that Will is seated next to Izzy, it seemed only right that he should, hehe.))

((ooc: Course not!))
Glancing up as she heard a familiar voice Isabella couldn't keep the growing smile off her lips, as much as she tried to disguise it, and she probably should since she didn't expect the Headmaster to exactly delight over professors 'seeing each other'. Nodding in agreement with Will's greeting to Geoff she smiled sympathetically at the man in question, "Would you like me to perform an after-sun charm? It does the same kind of cooling and comforting as muggle after-sun lotions you buy except it's much more effective," she offered in a friendly manner before looking sideways at Will as he then greeted her.
"Good evening Mr Pattinson," she agreed with a grin, "Aww and now the evening is even better because you said I looked lovely," she said in an undertone, having to resist the urge to grab him and kiss him right there for being so charming. "You look alright yourself, I suppose," she admitted as though begrudging him a compliment before winking quickly at him.

Geoff greeted Isabella and Will in turn as they showed up at the table. "Really? That would be great," he told Isabella, gladly accepting her offer. "You know, I've gone thirty years as a wizard and I never knew anti-sun charms were even... a thing. I may have to borrow some of your charms books, could be a real eye-opener for me."
He heard Will and Isabella compliment each other and smiled a little to himself; he liked seeing his friends and colleagues happy. "Hey.. I could have told you both that you looked good... I just didn't think you'd trust someone with skin peeling off," he joked. Geoff wanted to launch into one of their more typical topics for conversations, but he was far too aware of Headmaster Gayfor's presence. He cleared his throat and said, "Hey, so... you two have your lesson plans all thought out? I'm going to be tough on the kids this year... really show them what's what, you know?" He tried to nod seriously, even though he had no idea what he was talking about, and honestly sounded more like he was going to beat his students up after class than give them a rigorous Arithmancy course.

Approaching his usual seat, Joe looked at the new Headmaster and swallowed quietly before giving him a small wave, "Good Evening Headmaster, lovely night isnt it? Though...well I've never seen the ceiling look so stormy...hopefully thats not an omen on your reign...." he laughed softly, his laugh trailing off as quick as it had started as the Headmaster practically glared at him.
Sitting down in his seat, he greeted his fellow Professors and let out a long sigh, "Well...this isnt awkward at all! I remember when Naomi started here...things definitely werent this tense! My mother...well she's been telling me a lot about Gayfor here...which Im sorry..but the students are going to be all over that name, mark my words" Joe spoke in hushed tones, his cheeks tinging pink as the Headmaster glanced at him, he hoped he hadnt been heard but knowing his luck he had been.
"Im assuming you all attended Beth & Ange's big bash? What did I miss then? Any gossip that I should know?" he asked excitedly, he loved gossip and was looking forward to hearing the students stories, they always had the best gossip, "I couldnt make it unfortunately, Daisy has been under the weather and I had to be Super Dad! Leia hasnt been too well either but thankfully nothing serious....Geoff...you've got red on you" Joe finally stopped talking, looking at Geoff with a curious look as he seemed a lot more red than usual.
(ooc. Sorry for the lameness but I couldnt NOT use that line! And dunno if you know but Joe & Daisy have 2 kids now, Luke and Leia *yes....really!* Luke is 1 and Leia is newborn)

Geoff laughed a bit at Joe's comment about the Headmaster's name, because well... it was true. He looked down at himself when the other professor commented on his increased level of redness and said in a deadpan, "Well... I've become a communist, yes."
He cracked his knuckles absently before looking back up. "How are Luke and Leia, then? You know... I'm a bit put out that you've already claimed those names... but I'll forgive you as long as they have adventures with my future children, Han and Chewy. Both girls," Geoff joked before shaking his head, because really, no one wanted to hear the nerdy guy with four cats and no girlfriend talk about his imaginary Star-Wars-named children.
