Name: Adriana Nora Truscott
Nicknames: Aid, A, Ari, Addie.
Blood: half-blood
Age: 19 (b: 23rd July 1991)
Year: Graduated- was Gryffindor
Appearance: Adriana is beautiful and she knows it. She takes advantage of this to get what she wants, and always gets what she wants. She has an exotic air about her, with her healthily tanned skin aided by her naturally dark olive complexion. Her long, silky dark brown hair falls straight most of the time but sometimes as waves or curls in it, and she has big chocolate brown doe-eyes that can make her appear innocent. Adriana never goes without her makeup, even when she doesn’t need it. Usually she tends toward the “I got out of bed and naturally look this gorgeous” style with minimal makeup, but sometimes she’ll add heavy eyeliner and smokey eye-makeup or a shimmery colour to her mascara, lipstick, blusher and lip-gloss. Taking time on her appearance Adriana is all about accessorizing, and is never without a handbag of some sort, earrings, or some other type of one-of-a-kind jewelry piece, scarf, and even sometimes a hat.
Personality: A smoldering feisty vixen or snotty spoilt brat, are the terms most readily used when describing Adriana. Most find her bitchiness intolerable, but they do what she asks otherwise she might use her crafty, conniving, clever, and manipulative mind for evil purposes and destroy them or at the very least their social standing, rather than simply bribe them to do her homework. She is very prideful, often to the point of arrogance with her audacity and pompous nature. However she takes honour and family seriously. Only she is allowed to completely embarrass her family with her wild ways and adoration for the public spotlight. If anyone else decides to humiliate her family however they will regret it for the rest of their lives. She is very sensitive and prone to violent outbursts. Rules and regulations are more like guidelines than actual rules to her. She gets into constant trouble with authority figures, and numerous mishaps with the law. Most involving drunken conduct, trespassing on property, and some form of public nudity. She’s not very good at censoring herself unless she really wants something.
Depending on her mood, which changes easily, Adriana can be forgiving. In fact, she can be the sweetest person in the world, aside from true and honest do-gooders. Adriana actually has a big, generous and loving heart underneath the massive pile of shoes and clothes she keeps in her closet. Andie only wears the best designer outfits and treats them like recycling, thinking new three month old shoes she’s worn twice are “last season” and gives them away to charity, meaning her closest girlfriends, or ‘actual charity.’ Adriana lives to have fun and be the life and soul of a party, and the centre of attention in everything she does.
Background: Her parents had little in the way of money but they got by. Her father was a wizard but generally used his powers for evil not good…well at least it wasn’t killing anyone, but her father was a criminal and stole cars and other such things for a living. Her mother had fallen in love with him, and for a while nothing could break that bond, not even her knowing about his wizardry. Then one day, when Adriana was 5 her father left and never came back. Her father had abandoned them, and the wizarding world and all its wonders was forgotten about for a long time.
When Adriana turned eleven strange things started to happen. Granted, strange things had always seemed to happen to Adriana. She was unnaturally clumsy, or so she thought, and unexplainable things just…happened. Also she was pretty sure she accidentally threatened her tormentor, the annoying neighbor girl that lived in the nice part of the neighborhood on her bike route to school every day, named Susan with a snake. But that was ridiculous, people couldn’t talk to snakes.
The purple letter addressed to her finally came…in a crumpled mass that finally made its way through the kitchen window dropped into a pot of spaghetti sauce by a very dusty owl. Only later when both mother and daughter had finally caught the poor traumatized bird did they realize he was covered in soot. They had no fireplace to speak of obviously the bird had gotten a bit confused. Her mother had always known this day would come, and the two sat down and she finally told her daughter everything about her father. Still in shock Adriana traveled to Diagon Alley to pick up her books with her mother. After they had collected all her things the next day she packed a massive suitcase and went to platform 9 ¾ for the train that would take her to Hogwarts. She was in awe of everything from the chocolate frogs to the sorting hat, and most of all her wand. Magic was real, everything that she had ever dreamed of, the fairytales that she had made up as a small child were all real.
When the sorting hat was placed on her head Adriana found every eye on her. She had never felt more stage fright than in that moment. She jumped when the hat began speaking to her and for a second grabbed the hat and ripped it off her head. She stared at it, blinked a few times, and then cautiously put it back on when the entire great hall erupted into amused laughter giving her expressions as if to say “you’re adorable,” some more condescending than others. The hat seemed to be truly pondering over a quandary it was having. “Interesting, very interesting,” it told her. “What? What is so interesting?” she whispered. “You would do very well in Gryffindor indeed, you have heart and bravery,” the hat told her still debating, “What is Gryffindor?” she asked. “You shall see, in time you shall see, but there is more to you than meets the eye dear one, although you would do well under the lion for confidence you have, there is something underneath that beckons me to tell….SLYTHERIN,” the hat shouted out loud. Adriana gave a little jump. Her doe-eyes darted around for a moment before she spotted the table clearly marked Slytherin with the emblem of a snake. Curious.
In her years at Hogwarts Adriana learned quite a bit about the wizarding world and magic. She was much smarter than she appeared to be. Her cunning that quickly revealed itself made her a perfect fit for Slytherin. She also had the rare gift of parseltongue, she could talk to snakes. Of course it was as much a surprise to her as it was to anyone else. Her first two years Adriana kept relatively to herself. She was not popular by any means, simply the weird half-blood girl who knew less about the magical world than most muggleborns. She had been a bit of a closeted nerd and sci-fi, fantasy geek while in muggle school, but the real thing was nothing compared to that of her imagination, and she had a very vivid imagination. For the first two years she made real friends with everyone, Gryffindor’s, Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws, it didn’t matter what house they were from so long as they were nice she befriended them. For a while Adriana had a solid group of friends from a few different houses, and finally she felt at home at the end of her second year. She missed leaving every summer to go home, although she missed her mum Hogwarts had become her home: a place where her oddities weren’t oddities but magic.
It wasn’t until third year that everything changed. Adriana excelled in many subjects, Potions, Arithmancy, and Charms to name a few. For this reason a group of bullies run by the infamous Charlotte Brevin decided that Adriana Truscott was to be this year’s victim. Char was a beautiful blonde Slytherin with a spiteful mean streak and a fierce temper. Char was also incredibly insecure, but simply masked it with bitterness and cruelty. At first Adriana gave in to every demand Char threw at her. Finally near the end of the year Adriana had fallen behind in her studies because she was doing 5 sets of homework for Char and her minions. Strained from lack of sleep, food, and everything else essential to create proper thought process and make good decisions Adriana did what no one in their right mind had ever had the balls to do: she stood up to Char. It was in that moment, publicly humiliating Char in front of their entire year and most of the school Adriana became Char. Everyone cheered for Adriana, and she had knocked Char off her pedestal. It was then that Adriana got a taste of what victory felt like, what glory felt like, and adoration, and she liked it.
During her fourth year Adriana returned a changed teen, now she was the popular one. It felt good others knowing her name for a change, she was no longer invisible, or that girl who is wicked good at potions or DADA, she was THAT GIRL. She was: THE IT GIRL. She began to tell small lies that grew into bigger ones. Soon she was pretending to act stupid or at least dumbed herself down to impress others. She was sexy and fierce and all the boys wanted her and all the girls wanted to be her. For the next 3 years she was the envy of Hogwarts.
When she graduated Hogwarts Adriana graduated at the top 3 of her class. Everyone of course thought she had somehow cheated her way through the tests seeing as she had conned other students often to do her homework for her, but Adriana had gotten her scores on her own merit, no one could take that victory away from her.
Over the next year Adriana would have a score of jobs, most of them unappealing, and one failed singing career. Finally Adriana, who had always loved the theater and acting, began getting small parts which lead to bigger roles. At 19 she was finally had the lead role in a musical, Phantom of the Opera in Hogsmeade. On the last night of her show with a packed house that is when it happened. Adriana doesn’t know what happened, but all she remembers is waking up in some bushes without any idea where she was or who she was, for some reason her memory had been erased.
Scared and alone Adriana scrambled to her feet and wandered aimlessly down the deserted streets of Hogsmeade, all the shops closed except for one. She gravitated towards the lit windows and sounds, and a few people milling outside the bar. She read the sign ‘O’Connors,’ no recollection. Thankfully Adriana was dressed in normal clothes having changed into civilian clothes and out of her costume. She stumbled into the bar, her eyes darting this way and that trying to place a face, anyone, but nothing. She ambled up to the bar and an attractive blonde man greeted her as Adriana, and said something snarky she didn’t really catch. She was too overwhelmed by all the noise and the people and the not knowing who she was. Her gaze had drifted to the crowd of people and that’s when she saw it, some guy was waving a funny looking twig around and strange fireworks were shooting out of it. Her eyes went wide, she had begun retreating before she even knew what was happening. Adriana had raced outside and began hyperventilating, she couldn’t breathe, she couldn’t believe what she was seeing, and she still had no idea where she was or more importantly who she was.
Characteristics: Taciturn, feisty and easily distracted Adriana flits from one thing to another and can never stay with one thing or in one place for very long. She rarely forms solid attachments with other people, places or things (even her mountain of shoes). She has a witty, but rather dark sense of humour, tends to be cynical and skeptical of everyone and doesn’t trust anyone, aside from her family, she will stick by them no matter if they’re in the wrong. The only thing Adriana is protective over is her family. Some feel it is perhaps the only thing she has ever really loved, other than her greatest passion which is dance.
She can be a bit unstable, and is prone to wild bouts of spontaneity usually involving something dangerous or at the very least hazardous to her health or someone else’s. Fiery, she has a hot, quick temper, and resorts to physical violence. Andie enjoys the emotional power she has over people, is always out to get what she wants, and doesn’t have many boundaries; she is a highly conflicted individual who does not have the ability to decipher between right and wrong most of the time.
Other: She is fond of singing and has a very wide range. She likes things the way she likes them, tends to be rather OCD over things, like colour coding her drawers. She can be overcritical and harsh about everything, and very meticulous, she is a perfectionist. She has a calico named Misty, and a small brown owl, the one that first flew into her kitchen at the age of eleven, named Pickles.
