Justin nodded. "Class of 2010, yeah. Me, Adriana, O'Connor and Armit-- where'd he go?" he said in confusion while attempting to point out Rhys, who had long since disappeared. He listened politely for a moment, looking down while folding and unfolding his hands. He thought Noah and Ad would be good for each other, but he didn't want to push it. "Wait. Isn't she supposed to dump you for being a terrible boyfriend?" Justin asked while squinting at Noah. "That's what happened with me and Nathan. It's like I can either excel at both of my jobs and take care of all my responsible adult shit, or I can be in a relationship, but if I try to do both I'm some sort of terrible person. Though he's been calling me again so..." he shrugged.
Justin practically jumped out of his skin when Mark showed up, then started nodding vigorously. "Yeah yeah, go for it." Though he hadn't smoked very much at all, he was starting to feel like this was a very very very bad idea and should probably just affix himself to the couch and wait for it to pass. Or possibly hide under a table for the duration of the evening. He hadn't decided yet. "Find Rhys, that's where I got it. Do you know Rhys? Just uh, just look out for a sort of good-looking guy doing something incredibly stupid, probably."

"Mmm Class of 2007 here, it feels like forever ago," Noah commented before smiling as the other guy looked around for Rhys Armitage, "It's cool, I've met him before. Well... I say 'met'... he just offered me some stuff, told me he could improve my band with his mad piano skills and then disappeared. Do you ever worry about that guy?" he asked lightly. Then he laughed uncomfortably at Justin's good point, actually, and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, "Heh, yeah actually, that's usually how it goes. I broke it off because... well it's not really fair on her now, is it? To be stuck with me being a shit boyfriend but not wanting to be the one to end it because she likes me and I like her and it's messy and confusing and..." he trailed off with a heavy sigh and a shake of his head, instead taking a large swig from the bottle. "Exactly! That's exactly it, mate. I've always put my jobs and family commitments first, relationships second and that tends to uh ruin pretty much anything remotely good I've ever had going. But hey, you never know with Nathan, maybe you two can give it a go again?" he offered with a casual shrug.
He smiled slightly in amusement at Mark's entrance, "Really bad day, huh?" he suggested, watching as the other guy talked to Adriana. "Oh, I didn't know you guys knew each other," he said in surprise. He knew Mark vaguely from Hogwarts - they'd been in the same year and both on the Quidditch teams but the old chestnut that was Gryffindor and Slytherin rivalry had kept them from ever really talking to each other. Though Sam knew Mark well, he remembered. "There's a whole mound of beer in the kitchen," Noah added, taking the spliff back as Mark offered it to them, sensing from a quick glance that Justin would not, or more accurately probably should not, partake any more.

Justin shrugged at Noah's assessment of Rhys. "I don't know him that well? I dated his sister for about a year, over the course of which I'm pretty sure he tried to hit on me for homework answers. He also gave Lillian pills and failed to tell her what they were so... if man's greatest enemy is his own mind, Rhys is running through life completely unopposed. If it keeps working out for him, great, but if he has to face a consequence one of these days that teaches him a lesson I'll be the last one to complain," Justin pontificated, far more loquacious than usual and utterly convinced that he was making far more brilliant points than he actually was.
He then furrowed his eyebrows. "Well, it was a... oh God. 'Booty call'? I really hope I never have to say that again," Justin muttered while wincing viscerally at the term. "I don't know. On the one hand, we're the same people, so obviously if we get back together we're just going to run into the same problems. It's the insanity of doing something over and over again and hoping for a different result. On the other hand, the entire process of going out and trying to meet new people makes my skin crawl."
Justin then looked back at Mark, blinking. "Oh. Ha! Did you ask about beer?" He wasn't entirely sure how he missed that. "That's my whole thing that I do, uh, Beer... man... that's me, you know? What do you like?"
